Frequently Asked Questions

Most of the common formulas available in grocery stores outside of Europe (even the organic type) can contain ingredients such as sweeteners (like sugar or high-fructose corn syrup), carcinogens such as artificial preservatives, artificial flavors and artificial colors. Most of the common milk-based formulas are produced by cows that are not fed an organic diet and that receive hormone and/or antibiotic treatments - all of which can be transferred to the formula and digested by babies.

Organic standards for food in the European Union are very strict and the whole chain, from every small ingredient to the feed and treatment of the cows, is controlled before the formula can be certified as organic in Europe.

Babies need certain levels of nutrients at different stages in their development. With that in mind, it’s recommended that babies are switched to the appropriate stage based on their age. Brands like Hipp, Holle, Lebenswert, Loulouka and Nannycare have worked hard for many decades to perfect the nutrient levels in their formulas so they meet your growing baby’s needs.

The best option is to resell unused items online (E.g., eBay or Kijiji) or to friends and family.
